Laser therapy in skin care has undergone a virtual evolution in treatment modalities. Treatments are more effective as individually designed hand pieces deliver more concentrated penetration to specific tissue depth, more precise and controlled areas in the delivery of light waves and certainly safer in the various applications available for rapid treatment and healing.

Dr. Fisher and the Biomedical Skin Treatment Institute staff thoroughly reviewed the most sophisticated laser systems on the market. The institute is pleased to announce that we now offer a full spectrum of laser treatments including ablative, photo facials or IPL, fractional or skin resurfacing, skin tightening, hair removal and multiple packages that result in the most advanced types of skin rejuvenation. Dr. Fisher has personally selected the system that interfaces most effectively with his patent pending growth factor lipoprotein factors designed to offer an additional "boost" to the panoply of available therapies. This combined treatment system, with the addition of GFP™ Cellular Complex and its innovative technology will provide you with the most sophisticated combination of biotechnology and laser therapy. Biomedical Skin Treatment Institute Laser Procedures

-The IPL/Photo Facial provides pulsed light waves to target pigmented and vascular lesions. This treatment is sometimes referred to as pulsed light photo-rejuvenation or photo-facial.

-The Laser GFP Lift D offers skin resurfacing while targeting sun and photo-damaged skin, melasma, fine-line wrinkles and textured acne scarring.

-The Laser GFP Lift S is the latest innovative procedure for photo-aging; acne scars; deeper fine line wrinkles and improving skin texture. Results from this advanced Lift S procedure provides the next generation of treatment to the older CO2 lasers. This procedure is much more controlled and anatomically focused and thus minimizes the risks of scarring, infection and long term pigmentation changes, with much less downtime.

We feel very proud and fortunate to have Jodie Emery R.N. become part of our already outstanding staff at the office of Garth Fisher M.D., F.A.C.S. in Beverly Hills, CA. Jodie is a registered nurse with over fourteen years experience in pre and postoperative care. She has a broad and extensive background in general and acute care nursing, with special expertise in the field of skin care including tissue rejuvenation injectibles such as Collagen and Botox. Jodie is a Certified Collagen Specialist who brings a unique gift of an artistic creativity and professional empathy to our office. She has extensive experience in Plastic Surgery, working with some of the finest plastic surgeons in California. She is responsible for some of those "luscious lips" we envy on the big screen! her full time focus will be directed toward the Biomedical Skin Care Institute (BSTI) practice in the areas of laser hair removal, microdemabrasion, and micropigmentation.

Prior to her involvement in cosmetic plastic surgery, Jodie’s dedication and level of professional responsibility was evident during the decade she served as charge nurse of all the 14 operating rooms at Centinella Hospital! She has been the director of nursing at a busy surgery center dedicated to plastic surgery, and a "study coordinator & for the FDA’s investigative silicone breast implants project.

Laser Hair Removal

Because of the volume of requests throughout the year, we have expanded and are now also offering Laser Hair Removal. I have carefully followed the evolution of this technology for years and am now convinced that the satisfaction rate is high for permanent reduction of hair growth. We have spent months performing our own personal objective "test phase" on many patients with a variety of skin/hair color. Questions Regarding Hair Removal

Q: Is Laser Hair Removal permanent?
A: Yes and no. Laser Hair Removal is approximately 70% permanent after 3 treatments, which more treatments you will receive a more permanent result.

Q: How many treatments will I need?
A: Five to six treatments are usually needed.

Q: Will there be change in pigmentation?
A: Pigmentation change is unlikely. However, there is a higher incidence with darker skin types (Fitzpatrick IV, V & VI).

Q: Does it burn?
A: Burning is unlikely, but possible if over-treated, especially on darker skin types.

Q: Is it painful?
A: Slight discomfort has been reported on occasion, however, we use a variety of products to reduce any discomfort associated with Laser Hair Removal treatments.

Q: What is the cost?
A: The cost varies and depends on the area of the body being treated and number of total treatments.

Q: Will I be red after the treatment?
A: You will be slightly red for up to 48 hours post treatment.

Q: When can I go out in the sun after the treatment?
A: Wait three days post-op, but do not tan between treatments.

Q: Is there a guarantee?
A: No.

Q: When can I go swimming after the treatment?
A: Immediately.

Q: Can I wear sun block after the treatment?
A: Yes, sun block is a must. However you should wait until all redness and irritation is gone.

Q: Can I wear make-up after the treatment?
A: Yes, however you should wait until all redness and irritation is gone.

Q: What is hair grows back; will I be treated for free?
A: No.

Q: Will I have to come in for a maintenance treatment once or twice a year?
A: This will depend upon residual hair growth and a follow-up treatment may be necessary.

Q: Can my hair or skin color affect the outcome?
A: Yes. While lighter skin with darker hair is ideal for treatment, darker skin and lighter hair types can be done, however may require more treatments for optimal results. Grey and blond hair may not respond as well as darker hair.

Q: Can I be treated if I have a dark complexion?
A: Yes, except for skin type VI.

Q: Can my entire back be treated in one visit?
A: Yes.

Q: Can my bikini line be treated?
A: Yes.
